Board of Supervisors

The Chickasaw County Board Supervisors serve under the unit system and county is divided
into five districts. The Supervisors are elected by the people every four years and they make the decisions
that impact the lives of each resident in the county.

Duties of the Supervisors

1. Infrastructure and Services
a. roads, bridges, drainage and make garbage all taken care of by the Board Supervisors and it is
needs of the residents are met. money for the infrastructure is spent wisely and

2. Budget and Taxes
a. The Board of Supervisors set the budget for the county, approve millege for the schools,
b. approve the taxes residents will pay each year for their real and personal taxes.

3. Safety and Law Enforcement also work closely with the Sheriff’s Department, Emergency Management,
911 Department, Justice Court, Coroner and the Fire Districts.

4. Economic Development work closely with Three Rivers Planning and Development District
to secure future economic development in the County that will benefit farming, industry

5. Serving the People
a. One of the most important job each Supervisor is to represent and listen to the residents of
this county.
