Board of Supervisors

Chickasaw County is governed by five supervisors, each elected from a single district for a four-year term.

What the Board does

The Board of Supervisors is the county's legislative and executive body. Acting together in open session, the supervisors:

  • Adopt the annual county budget and set the county millage rate
  • Oversee construction and maintenance of county roads and bridges
  • Manage county buildings, including both courthouses
  • Approve county claims, contracts and purchases
  • Appoint members to county boards and commissions
  • Handle solid waste collection and other county-wide services

Each supervisor represents one of the county's five districts.

Bringing a matter before the Board

Residents who wish to address the Board should contact the Chancery Clerk's office in advance to be placed on the meeting agenda. Road and drainage concerns are usually handled fastest by calling the supervisor for your district.

Board meetings

Regular meetings are held on the first Monday of each month. Meetings are open to the public. Call the Chancery Clerk's office to confirm the time and location before you travel.
