• Patrol and emergency response in unincorporated areas of the county
• Criminal investigations
• Operating the Chickasaw County jail
• Serving civil process, subpoenas and court orders
• Providing security for the courts
• Enforcing warrants and transporting prisoners

Reporting a non-emergency

For situations that are not an emergency — a past-tense theft, suspicious activity, a noise complaint or a report you need for insurance — call the Sheriff's Department during business hours at the number listed on this page. Dispatch is available at all hours through 911.

Jail and inmate information

Questions about an inmate's status, bond amount or visitation should be directed to the jail by phone. Visitation days and hours are set by the Sheriff and can change with little notice, so always call before traveling.

Records and background checks

Requests for incident reports, accident reports and local background checks are handled in person at the Sheriff's office. Bring a photo ID and, where possible, the report number and the date of the incident.

Civil process

Papers issued by the Circuit, Chancery or Justice Court are served by deputies. If you have filed a case and need to check on service, call the office with your case number.
