Careers with the county
Current openings
Open positions are posted here as they become available, and are also posted at both courthouses. When there are no openings listed, the county is not actively hiring — but applications are still accepted and kept on file.
No openings are posted at this time.
New openings will appear on this page and in county notices.
How to apply
Applications are made directly to the department doing the hiring. Deputy and dispatcher positions go through the Sheriff's Department; road crew positions go through your district supervisor or the road department; clerical positions go through the elected official over that office.
Please include the following with any application:
- Your full name, mailing address and a phone number where you can be reached
- The position you are applying for
- Your work history, with dates and the reason you left each job
- Education and any certifications or licenses you hold, including a CDL
- Two or three references who are not family members
What to expect
Most county positions require a valid Mississippi driver's license, a background check and a pre-employment drug screening. Law enforcement positions have additional requirements set by state law, including certification through the Mississippi Law Enforcement Officers' Training Academy.
Equal opportunity
Chickasaw County is an equal opportunity employer. Employment decisions are made without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability or veteran status.
